SILAS' BIRTHDAY - 2014

Twelve years ago I was incredibly sleep-deprived. I'd slept six of the previous 82 hours and had been having contractions 5-10 minutes apart for 64 hours. My first homebirth had ended in a transport, so I was surrounded by Tim, my midwife and her two apprentices, a friend who'd shown up to take pictures a day and a half earlier and never left, a doctor I'd met 15 hours earlier, and a slew of medical staff for the end of my longest labor and delivery of my smallest baby. Silas was more than worth being completely exhausted and things not going as planned.
