This picture was taken Memorial Day weekend in 2004. It was my ten year class reunion and I was about 39 weeks pregnant with Devon. Fun times! One of the great things about growing up in a small town is that everyone knows everyone and most of us had known each other all or most of our lives. Our class had 90-something students and I think there are only two or three on the class list whose names I don't recognize today.
I'm the Queen "B" -- Wife of His Majes "T" -- Mom of four royally awesome kids: three princes and a princess.

3/10/14 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken late in the summer of 1994, just before I headed off for college. The girl sitting next to me was named Lisa. She was twelve when this picture was taken, a girl with strong opinions about movies and music, a great sense of humor, and the ability to communicate volumes without ever speaking a word.
I first met Lisa when I was hanging out with a friend who helped at her house and ended up working there myself soon after. I spent three and a half years, from February of my freshman year of high school through the summer after I graduated, helping to take care of Lisa's physical needs and doing a variety of other things around the house to help her family.
Her mom and sister (who I'm still in contact with), dad, and grandparents became friends of mine and they gave me the honor of being one of the people who spoke at Lisa's memorial service when she died unexpectedly less than a year after this picture was taken. It's been almost twenty years since she died and I think about her often.

2/24/14 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken at Capitol Park in Sacramento, CA on my first birthday. There's a whole lot of lace in that outfit, don't you think?

2/10/14 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
Today would have been my mom's birthday and as I was going through old pictures to find one to post, I came across this one of my parents. I don't know when it was taken, but it was before they were married. Notice the bracelet on my mom's arm? It's the same one I wear. This is one of my favorite pictures of my parents!

4/8/13 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken during the fall of my third grade year. Do I look like Devon (who is currently in third grade) or what?! It was my first year of public school (I happily shuffled between home, private, and public), the year I won a local coloring contest (my only claim to artistic fame), and the year we started attending the church I grew up in (ten years, lots of memories).

3/11/13 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken the day Tim got his bachelors in health promotion and fitnesss management. College graduation is always a big milestone (he actually went on to get his masters in teaching few years later), but he had a rough academic start to college that made the day even more important. On top of that, he was the first person in his family to get a degree, though others are working on theirs right now, which is pretty significant. Having a college degree is certainly not the determining factor of success or happiness in life and his other family members have wisely pursued the things that interest them, but I think it's admirable when someone reaches a goal without having any footsteps to follow.
I know what you're thinking right now. College degree? Who cares. We want to know what's up with all Tim's hair?!

2/25/13 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken when I was in the eighth grade. Yes, I had on a pink shirt with purple snowflakes. No, I don't know why. Let's ignore that detail and the random Christmas background that was chosen for school portraits, then focus our attention on the beautifully sculpted mound of bangs that I doused in gallons of hairspray. I loved those bangs!

2/11/13 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken December 1999. It was our first married Christmas, which we spent with my dad and his family in sunny California. Yes, I had really short hair. And, yes, Tim had long hair that was pulled back.

9/17/12 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken in late 1987 or early 1988. The occasion? My first time wearing nylons! Ribbon, lace, ruffles, and nylons. Think I've changed a bit since then?

4/2/12 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
These pictures were taken when I was 18 months old. Ignore the fact I'm flashing the camera and check out my hairdo. Is it awesome or what?!

4/18/11 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken during the summer of 2003. We were at Lithia Park watching Ballet in the Park and the ballet photographer, unbeknownst to us, was taking some practice shots before the show. She came up to us at one point and said she'd snapped a great shot of Silas and wondered if she could e-mail it to us. This was the shot. I love it!

4/11/11 MEMORIES ON MONDAY
This picture was taken in February 2009. It's the last picture of Naomi with a full mouth of teeth, as she took a header off the piano bench shortly after this picture was taken and knocked a tooth out. She's been a cute hillbilly ever since and each week lets at least one person know that she lost a tooth, despite the fact it happened over two years ago.
