After the door was finished we picked up Granny and headed out to Safari Sam's. It was incredibly non-busy for a Friday night, which was actually really nice. The kids climbed, ran, rolled, hung, and jumped all night.
Saturday started with a leisurely morning. As usual, Papa had some tricks for the grandkids. As usual, they were impressed.
After everyone had eaten and dressed we loaded up in the van and headed to Baggenstos Farms. We knew there was a chance of rain. What we didn't know is that a thunderstorm was going to start once we were about 20 feet into the corn maze. We got totally soaked, heard some incredibly loud thunder over our heads, saw lightning and had a great time. Naomi, who wasn't impressed with the rain unless she got to stomp in puddles, spent some quality time snuggling with my dad.
We left the farm and headed to Burger King for lunch, then home to put two kids down for naps and one sent off for downtime. A quiet afternoon spent cooking (me), watching football (Tim), and blogging (my dad) preceded one of our favorite dinners of rice cooker mac and cheese. The day ended with popcorn, kettle corn, and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. We'd seen the movie twice already, but the boys wanted to watch it with Papa.
My dad headed home ridiculously early Sunday morning and the visit was over. Fun weekend!
I have a few more pics on our Picasa page, but my dad has lots and lots over on his blog. Go check them out!
