LOOKING FOR ME?

One of the fun things about having a site meter is that you can see where your readers were referred from. If my readers come from a Google or Swagbucks search, then I can tell what terms they were searching. Here are some things people were recently looking for when they landed on my blog, including a few comments from me in parenthesis. Think they were looking for me?

-evening curly hair (You know I get all dolled up to go out every night.)
-curly hair while camping
-sonlight referral program
-curley (Spellcheck alert ... curly doesn't have an "e".)
-the land of the curly hair (Ummm, "the" curly hair? Sorry, we have more than one curly hair around these parts.)
-sonlight curriculum special offer codes (Use mine, use mine, use mine!)
-mohawk for curly hair
-events for toddlers in Bethany (I think they want the location, not the person.)
-Moffits lyrics (Is Beep a singing sensation?)
-September freebies
-things to do with curly hair
-cornbread bethany wethersby (This is someone who knows I have the best cornbread, but they don't know how to spell my last name - Weathersby.)
-sonlight blog recipes
-fun things to do with curly hair
-marshmallow gun (Think their wars were as fun as ours?)
-correct way to eat a cupcake (Someone who has is now eating cupcakes the right way.)
-devon's mohawk
-how curl hair with stuff around the house
-athey creek christian fellowship (That's our church!)
-ugh, cheers that will be 20 bucks (I have no idea what this person wanted or what they found.)
-curly 27 piece mohawk (Twenty-seven pieces? How does that work?)
-"eye exam" glasses - lasik
-curly hair grannies
-freebies in the Philippines in September (Wrong country. Sorry.)
-curly hair mohawks

Bethany, I have a counter, but I have no idea how to tell where they came from or what they were searching. Care to share?

I'm with Kelly, mine is way down at the bottom I don't know how to move it. I get those updates about the counter, but nothing like that on it.

Those are some funny searches to find you!

Kelly and Kathy - Just click on the meter when you're in your blog and you'll find a wealth of info available to you. Easy peasy. :)

And Kathy - If you go to your dashboard, then to layout, you can click and drag your meter to wherever you want it on your sidebar. Just be sure to click the orange "save" button when you're done rearranging.

Bethany, I've visited the Site Meter site. I can see all kinds of things, but only the past 10 visitors where they clicked from (most of them are direct hit?). I don't know where to see what they searched.

Please share your knowledge :)

Kelly - "Referalls" tell you what site they came from.

"Location" tells you where they live (or at least where their internet is from).

"Out clicks" tells you which of your links they clicked on.

The lower "entry page" shows the last 100 pages that were entered by ranking.

Those are the things I like looking at. All of those things have multiple pages linked at the bottom of the list.

You only saw 10 referrals? Did you enter through the visitor count on your site? I'm going to try it on your blog and see what I get. :)

Kelly - I figured it out. You have a visitor counter, but it's not site meter. If you went now, then you'd see that I came in from your profile.

If I were you, then I'd switch to site meter. I think they'll let you state your beginning count number, as I'm sure lots of people make the switch long after they've established their blog and want an accurate visitor count. It's www.sitemeter.com - go check it out!
