I now have something to hang above the toilet, towel hooks, toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, and a rug. The rug is neutral, though, and I'm thinking about exchanging it for one that's brick colored. So incredibly not a color I'm normally drawn to, but it would add a punch of coordinating color and I don't use that bathroom anyway. Hmmmmm ... we'll see.
My last dilemma is about paint. I want to do a neutral color, something kinda beige. However, we have some neutral paint in our garage that was left by the previous owner. It's what they painted the master bathroom with - not a horrid color, but a little too much on the peach/pink side of beige for my taste. But it's free. And I don't even use that bathroom. Another "hmmmmmmm" on that one. I'll decide soon, though, because I want to get the room done.
Anyway, we're making progress.
In fact, here's what happened a couple nights ago.
This ....

... plus this ...

... equals this.

No more wallpaper!!!

If you want to pilfer through our collection of leftover neutrals, come on over! We have several, ranging from milk chocolate to off white. None are even remotely pinkish. I think we have a lot of a color called "bagel," which is warm and slightly yellowish.
Yay for no more wallpaper!
Wallpaper is a.w.f.u.l. - looks like yours came off easy???
Looks awesome!!! I'm very impressed you're moving so quickly on getting settled and redoing.
Monique - I was going to take you up on your paint offer, but someone just suggested on FB that I take my pinkish beige paint to the store and have them add something to change the tint. I think I'll do that, otherwise that paint is just going to go to waste. :)
Faith - So quickly? It's been four months! And look who's talking. ;) The wallpaper was easy peasy to take down. Do you have some to remove?
Lookin' good!
That looks great! I'm so happy your wallpaper came off so quickly. When I redecorated my mom's bathroom, the wallpaper (all walls) did NOT want to come off. It had been applied straight on the sheetrock. Took. forever.
By the way, Faith is right; four months IS moving fast--especially considering that you've had a baby AND you home school!
Can't wait to see it all finished!
Doesn't it feel good to have the wallpaper down. Thankfully the house we bought three years ago {or maybe four} only had wallpaper in the school room. It was HIDEOUS and I removed while waiting for the cable guy to come before we moved it. Sadly that is as far as we got. I keep changing my mind what color to paint that room!
Bethany, just taking down the wallpaper has made such a difference in that bathroom! I have found a great shade of beige, which is not pinkish or yellowish. It's called "Bonjour Beige", & I think it was Glidden brand from Lowes. On the same paint sample they have a color called "Brown Bag" that's a nice, darker tan color & a lighter creamy beige color called "Water Chestnut". We've used it in several different rooms & houses, & it always looks good.
Dad - Thanks!
Lorinda - Your wallpaper experience sounds like a nightmare! Yikes.
Kristal - Pick a color. Go for it!! :)
Ruby - Thanks for the paint color suggestions!
Ahhhh.....great job!
I'd use the free paint in the bathroom you don't use, and then buy paint that you like to go in the bathroom that you do :)
