Devon's been trying to figure out what to do next with his hair. He really likes having styles that require some length, but it's getting long enough to be a hassle with all the time he spends in the pool, yet isn't long enough to pull back in a rubberband when he's swimming. We've considered dreadlocks (not a good option during a summer spent in the pool), corn rows (too much time and money them to maintain), and just trimming
the fro down a little. Today he decided to just whack it all off. It will be easier to maintain while he's swimming this summer and will have some length by the time fall rolls around.
The 5 inches of hair he used to have.
The 5 inches of hair he no longer has. Well, technically it's 4 1/2 inches we got rid of.
The silly, bald-ish boy. With a fading stamp on his forehead and crayon chunks in his teeth, because that's how he rolls.
The smiling, bald-ish boy.
He looks totally different, huh? The dude is looking quite grown up! And didn't that pile of hair look dark? Hard to believe he used to have platinum blonde hair.

Good idea...trying to maintain Alex's twists this summer is a nightmare with him in the pool every single day!! If we hadn't put so much time and money in them, I'd shave them off!!
Wow... what a change - but seems like a good pick for summer swimming!
