I just noticed another mononumeric visitor count is right around the corner. Want to celebrate? You do? All righty, then.
I'll give away $15.00 in Amazon gift cards that I've earned through using Swagbucks as my search engine. In order to enter, you have to leave a comment telling me what was going on in your life seven years ago. Only one entry per person and you don't have to have a Blogger account to leave a comment. Just be sure I know who you are and have a way to contact you. We'll leave the contest open for 24 hours, which means you have until 3:30pm PST on 6/23/11 to post your entry. I'll post the winner's name tomorrow evening.
I'm obviously ineligible to enter the contest, but I'll still tell you what I was doing seven years ago. We were living in Ashland, OR with a newborn and a toddler. I was home raising the offspring and Tim was starting the MAT (masters of arts in teaching) program.
What was your life like seven years ago?

Seven years ago I was pregnant with my first born. I was doing all the things first time parents do. Decorating the nursery, registering at Babies R Us, Target, etc. Stocking up on diapers and wipes and buying those cute little clothes.

Seven years ago this month, I was just working and going to church... I met Bobby seven years ago next month!
7 years ago I was actually in school for my phlebotomy certificate. (I only worked 2y, nights. Reason? So in case my dh who has had 2 spinal fusions ever becomes totally incapable of working I'd have the abiliby to make more than minimum wage)
Let's see, June 2004. Ed and I had been married for almost one year. I believe in June we attended a software conference (for him) in Las Vegas. It was too hot!
Seven years ago, Ian and I were married 2.5 years living in an apartment in Wilsonville. I was working for ACCF and Ian just got laid off OHSU...
7 years ago I was at Big Lake Youth Camp in eastern orego where I started my personal walk/growth with the Lord!!! :) :) Jen K (Athey Creek)
Seven years ago I was frantically creating the new heart healthy diet for Brad, who had a heart attack after we'd been married 8 months.
7 years ago, we were celebrating living in Fredericksburg for 2 years and I was raising a 4 year old, a 1.5 year old boy and was expecting my 3rd boy. We were getting ready to head to New England where I went to Fenway Park for my first (and only) time.
Seven years ago was June 2004 and I had just finished my second year of law school. My heart had been broken in January of that year and I was finally healing from that. It was a good summer that year.
Seven years ago I was getting ready to give birth to child #5. We still in CA. TX wasn't even on our radar, I wasn't even thinking of homeschooling.
How fun! Seven years ago this month, hmmmm...I had just finished working at Howard Elementary as a CLA and I started a office assistant temp job (which turned to a permanent job until I had Elijah)at a John Deere dealership. We were trying to start a family and by the end of 2004, we were expecting Elijah!
7 years ago I was living in a house with 5 other girls who were all working at Bally Total Fitness. My brother just got married and I had to walk down the isle in a huge cast because I had just had surgery... I was two short months away from meeting Trev.
7 years ago, me and the hubby were fixing up our new to us home. It needed a lot of work so I was here every waking moment. Very happy that we still have it.

Seven years ago, my daughter and son-in-love had been in Oregon for several months, I didn't have any darling grandbabies yet, my husband hadn't retired yet and I was already wishing that I lived in Oregon.
7 years ago I was pregnant with my sweet girl. Sicker than sick AND working 40 hours a week. We were living in our duplex in Multnamah Village.
We were getting ready to sell our house. Goodness, my kids were just babies. Boaz was 8!! Time sure does fly when you are having fun!
I think you know how to get a hold of me. :-)
I had just made the decision to "take a year off" from nursing school in order to help take care of my grandmother who had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. So I guess I've now taken seven years off! :-)
Living in Oregon City, taking care of our one year old Hailey, and pregnant with Karis!
I was living in a house with a nine acre park at the back of my lot, I had three children, and I think that about this time my husband took a job 2.5 hours away. He lived with my parents during the week and came home on the weekends. It took us a YEAR to sell our house and be together. That's when I started coming on the SL Forums. Oy... that was a rough year.
We were living in a 400 sf 1-bedroom apartment with a 3 year old and a newborn. Michael was just called back to fly after being furloughed for 3 years. Commuted to Salt Lake City every week. Crazy days...
seven years ago I was getting ready to tie the knot! Let's see.... the countdown would have been.... 39 days!!!!
Seven years ago our kids were 10, 11 and 13 years old.
I was 7 years into hs'ing. The boys were all playing baseball, Doug was coaching and on the advisory board and in charge of fundraising for baseball.
Doug had a normal job where he came home almost every night.
It was the magical years where they were old enough to not be a lot of physical work, but young enough to not really have lives of their own. The boys and I had dinner together every night, and Doug was home for dinner most of the time. Gosh....I miss that!
But life goes on, and they grow up and have lives and move out and jobs change and transitioning into a new season has been rough.
Wow, 7 years ago, huh? I had a 4 year old. I had just started homeschooling Ava in January with SL. We were busy with that (schooled through the summer), dance and I watched my sister's kids who were 2 and 9 months ago 3-5 nights a week. Kinda wish I could go back to those times right about now.
On this exact date seven years ago, June 22, 2004, I took the following people to the Emigrant Lake Water Slide: Debra, Ashley, Tim, Bethany, Silas, Josh, Belinda, Daisy, & Ally. I also took Devon, who was the only one too young to go down the water slide. He spent the afternoon sitting on my lap in the shade.
Correction: Debra stayed home that day. Also, I am declaring myself ineligible for this contest due to a major conflict of interests in the event that I should win.
Seven years ago I was pregnant with my first and still working as a paralegal at Hollywood Entertainment. Oh, how things have changed!
7 years ago I was just finishing up my 3rd year of nursing school. I was just starting my psych rotation at Emanuel's adult inpatient psych (FUN times!!), and I was either working or getting ready to start working at Onpoint Community Credit Union for the summer to earn some extra cash.
On this exact date seven years ago, June 22, 2004, I went with the following people to the Emigrant Lake Water Slide: Dad, Ashley, Tim, Bethany, Silas, Josh, Daisy & Ally. I also went with Devon, who was the only one too young to go down the water slide. He spent the afternoon sitting in Dad's lap in the shade.
Also, I am NOT declaring myself ineligible for this contest, because I want that Amazon card.
Seven years ago my husband of 3 years and I were living in an apartment in Clackamas, I was working at George Fox University, and we were wondering if we would go on vacation down to CA to visit family.
