Testosterone Crew
While they were gone I tackled a project in their bedroom. Their dresser, which has been around since I was a kid, and a nightstand that I got for five bucks at a thrift store, got a coat of black paint that coordinates with their bunk bed. They also got a new lamp, which looks yellow in this picture, but is actually a brown that goes with their camo bedding and new baskets for the nightstand, one for each boy, to store their odds and ends in. For the first time ever, they have a coordinated bedroom. Totally unimportant to a happy childhood, but still kinda fun ... at least for me.
I also got a clock, but I'm not hanging it until I figure out what else will go on the walls. And the curtain? Well, I can't decide whether to leave it long or chop it off and turn the extra fabric into pillows for the living room. Right now I'm opting for the lazy option and leaving it long.

Nice job on the room. And I love the picture of the boys at camp.
I have a silly question though. My kids both sleep at 5 feet up but have a railing. Mind you, they're short railings and they wouldn't hold up to much weight but they at least keep the kids from rolling off at night. How do you keep from the one on top from falling out of bed?

Our boys both started sleeping on the top bunk at just over 3yo. We kept the rail up for a year-ish, but finally took it down. They've never fallen out of a low bed, so there's no reason to believe they'd fall out of a high one. They never woke up against the railing either. So, it was just there for looks and made bed-making a pain in the neck. :)

My boy fell out of the top bed with the railing on... but he was leaning over the side talking to his brother. He was fine.
Now my girls, they fall out of their beds all the time!
