Tim took up salmon fishing two summers ago, but had little success catching anything. This year, however, things changed. He went out in late August and early September, two trips that landed him six salmon in a week. He gave one away, split one with a friend in exchange for the friend smoking it for him, then loaded our freezer with the rest. We love salmon, but it's never been a practical purchase for our budget, so having this abundance is a real treat!
The first trip was just Tim and some friends, one of whom snapped these first two pictures for us.
Tim took the boys on the second trip. Here are the grubby campers with some of their loot.
They forgot to take a picture with all the fish they caught before they came home, so we took a quick one in the backyard before Tim started hacking into them.
