UNEXPECTED VISIT WITH DON & KATY

Sometimes you're killing time between church services and notice that a couple you haven't seen in 13 years is standing twenty feet away. If both were an integral part of your life throughout your early adulthood and one performed your wedding ceremony, you promptly ditch the person you were talking to and run across the room to hug the couple.
You call your husband and tell him to meet you because he needs to see who you're talking to. You introduce your teenagers, who were only one and three the last time you saw each other, to this couple. You introduce your middle and grade school kids they've never seen before.
Don and Katy have poured their heart and soul into countless young adults over the years. It's an honor to have had them in my life (and then our lives when Tim came on the scene) so many years ago and a huge treat to see them yesterday. Not only did we get to see them, but in the few minutes we had together we were able to tell them about the guy who grew up in their church whose family attends church with us, the gal who went to their church as a college student who also goes to church with us, and point out the brother-in-law of another former college student they knew as he walked by.
It was such a treat to run into these two and it kept me smiling for hours.
